Token Usage

Monitor how many tokens you've used with the built-in token usage dashboard.

Accessing the dashboard​

  1. Click your avatar or settings icon (top-right)
  2. Select Token usage
  3. The modal shows your consumption for the selected period

Dashboard features​

  • Period selector — view Daily, Weekly, or Monthly usage
  • Progress bars — visual representation of usage vs. limit
  • Color coding:
    • Teal — under 70% of limit (healthy)
    • Orange — 70–90% of limit (approaching limit)
    • Red — over 90% of limit (near or at limit)

Anonymous users see a lifetime usage counter instead of period-based limits.

What consumes tokens?​

Every AI interaction consumes tokens:

  • Sending a message (your prompt + schema context)
  • AI response generation

Complex schemas with many tables consume more tokens per interaction because the full schema is included in every AI request for context.

Managing usage​

  • Use concise prompts — shorter prompts consume fewer tokens
  • Batch changes — combine multiple changes into one message
  • Use Plan Mode — confirm the AI's plan before it generates the full response (can reduce wasted tokens on wrong-direction changes)
  • Upgrade to Pro — for 2× daily token capacity
